Sporting
Horse Promotions is a partnership, established in 1990 (formerly
trading as Foxhill Racing Promotions). The company comprises
of two partners and a team of part-time staff and associates,
both within the UK and in the equestrian and racing industries
overseas. Our client list cuts across racing AND other equestrian
sports.
The
two partners are: Sandy Thwaites and Elain Mellor and together,
over the last 20 years, they have built up a highly intelligent,
professional, like-minded team, with a reputation for efficiency
and integrity. All have one thing in common - an exceptionally
valuable combination of a knowledge and love of the horse
with commercial acumen and initiative:

Sandy Thwaites
With
over 25 years experience of commercial PR and marketing
to the business. Her wide-ranging PR consultancy experience
includes work on consumer and trade accounts including
specialist travel expertise. Past clients have included:
Stowells of Chelsea Wines, Jordans Cereals, The Australian
Tourist Commission, Pickfords Travel (now Going Places)
and Citalia Holidays. Sporting Horse Promotions combines
her extensive knowledge of the PR and hospitality industries
with a keen personal interest in horses and racing.

Elain Mellor
During
her race riding career as one of the top amateur jockeys
(including seven years a champion) and as Assistant Trainer
to husband, Stan Mellor, Elain has built up an extensive
knowledge and network of contacts within the racing industry.
The Mellors are one of the most respected families in
British racing. Stan rode for HM The Queen Mother and
Elain rode as a jockey alongside HRH The Princess Royal. |
Becci Berry
With a strength and passion for IT Becci is constantly
working in developing our clients online communications
and marketing. In addition to being an accomplished
horsewoman her experience in the racing and equestrian
industry has taken her from the offices of The Sporting
Life newspaper to Sponsorship & Marketing Manager
for the Beaufort Polo Club and also Assistant Trainer
to Stan Mellor MBE. Becci has also worked with the French
Racing and Breeding Committee in Paris and speaks fluent
French.
